The post has been removed to avoid confusion, but I still have a copy of it for my records

  1. Everybody wants to drive the car or sit shotgun. There may be leadership in volunteering to sit in the back seat. Have you had this sort of issue with teamwork for school projects?

  2. Honestly, am generally the guy who volunteers/gets picked/chooses the leadership because of my personality. It just so happened that for the particular example of the campout, I was "participating, but not attending", due to other plans, and as such didn't take charge as I might have in other circumstances. (Not to say that I would have.)

On that note however, I fully agree that it seems that many people want to be a "right hand man", and are fully willing to help, but just doesn't want the overall responsibility of making decisions.

  3. I think when discussing school or other academic areas, there are also another set of motivations that we talked about earlier like grades. One reason people may want to be the leaders so that they can get good group-reviews, etc.

I feel like the fact that the project was a small project that didn't really cause any huge detriment to the world or to your lives probably had a lot to do with why no one stepped up, and no one did any organizing. Maybe it was one of those things that everyone just put on the backburner?
